LAUNCHING TODAY: Bay Bridge Billboard Calls on Congress to Impeach President Trump
SAN FRANCISCO — The California-based Courage Campaign has commissioned a new billboard on the Bay Bridge that calls on Congress to begin impeachment proceedings against President Trump. The billboard, which will read “IMPEACH” with a photo of President Trump, starts its run on Monday, September 25th and will run through October 1st. The billboard effort comes on the heels of accusations of Trump violating the Constitution, attempting to obstruct an investigation into potential wrongdoing by his presidential campaign, refusing to divest from his businesses, publicly supporting white supremacist violence in Charlottesville, and recent decisions to eliminate DACA protections for more than 800,000 young immigrants.

The billboard will go up as a direct result of donations made by Californians who stand with Courage Campaign on its demand for the impeachment of the President.
“From using his position as President to enhance his personal bank account via foreign interests — in direct violation of the Constitution’s emoluments clause — to revealing classified information to Russia and openly admitting that he fired FBI Director James Comey in order to obstruct the Russia investigation, the case for the impeachment of Donald Trump on legal grounds is a no-brainer,” said Eddie Kurtz, Executive Director of Courage Campaign. “But after his disgusting and misogynistic rhetoric about women, the nerve to rush to the defense of white supremacists in Charlottesville, and the ease with which he decided to remove DACA protections for hundreds of thousands of young people, there is more than a legal case; there is a moral imperative to act.
“The United States’ Constitutional system is one of delicate, deliberately designed checks and balances, and it is Congress’ duty to keep the President from eroding the rule of law. Such flagrant violations must not go unchecked. Continuing to let Trump’s trespasses go unaddressed plainly and simply undermines the very foundations of America’s democracy. Congress must show Americans the values that our country stands for by taking steps to impeach President Trump.”
In August, Courage Campaign launched a petition to impeach Trump, which was signed by more than 22,000 people in less than three hours. It now has more than 90,000 signatures.
